HDR Infrastructure and Facilities
The University of Canberra ensures that Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates have access to essential infrastructure and facilities. As valued members of the academic community, your needs and requirements are considered when resources are allocated.
Access to resources and funding is managed by your host Faculty.
Minimum resources for research candidates at University of Canberra
You will have access to:
- Hot-desk workstations in shared spaces, with availability aligned to candidate numbers.
- Tearoom and washroom facilities.
- Lockable storage for personal items and research materials.
- Laboratories, clinical spaces, studios, and equipment necessary for your research, with 24-hour access where practicable and safe.
- A faculty or school postal address for mail.
- University information and communication technology (ICT) systems and enterprise software from the start of your candidature.
- Library services and research support.
- Networked printing and shared phone access on campus.
- If you have a disability, health condition or primary caring responsibilities for someone with a disability, you can apply through Inclusion海角社区 for adjustments or support in alignment with the Disability Standards for Education 2005.
Research and conference travel funding
You are entitled to funding to help support ancillary costs associated with your research project. This funding is provided through the RTP Allowance. Details on eligible expenses and how to access these funds are outlined in the RTP Allowance Candidate Quick Guide
Problems or concerns
If you experience any problems or concerns with infrastructure or recourses:
- Contact your supervisory panel.
- If unresolved, reach out to your Faculty HDR Officer.
- Next escalate to the Executive Dean.
- For concerns that cannot be resolved within the Faculty, contact the Dean of Graduate Research School
